MILESTONES & ACHIEVEMENTS TO DATE
1985

Foundation of Southern Transvaal Youth Choir by Mr J J le Roux, superintendent of Transvaal Education.

1986

First performance in Alberton Civic Centre with Hannalie v/d Merwe as conductor, Christian le Roux as accompanist and Gawie Stoltz as organiser.

1986/87

Performed in State Theatre Pretoria and at SABC. Tour to Free State and Eastern Cape.

1989

Workshop in Namibia. Performance with Drakensberg Boy's Choir.

1993

Tour to Far East: Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.

1994

Tour to Durban. Major Youth Choir Festival in Kempton Park with 9 choirs participating.

1995

Tour to Amanzimtoti. Make recordings for church services at SABC. Participate in opening ceremony of Africa Gymnastic Games. Performed as demonstration choir with an international conductor during a workshop

1996

Tour to Europe. Attains overall 3rd place in Vienna at 25th international Music Festival. Wins trophy for most promising Youth Choir. TV recordings for Christmas programme with Drakensberg Boy's Choir. First CD released.

1997

Tour to Namibia. Henk Barnard appointed as choirmaster. Inception of Colla Voce Choir.

1998

Performances with East Rand, West Rand and North West Youth Choirs.

1999

Tour to Cape. Performed at annual Klein Karoo Kunstefees, received standing ovations. Second CD released.

2000

Tour to Far East: Malaysia and Thailand. Standing ovations at each performance.

2001

Tour to Mpumalanga. Performed in Bloemfontein with Bloemfontein Children's Choir.

2002

Tour to Swaziland, Sabie and Badplaas. Performances with Drakensberg Boy's Choir and RAU Choir. TV Appearance. Third CD released.

2003

Tour to Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Czeck Republic, Austria, Greece. Standing ovations at all concerts. Performance with Copenhagen Royal Chapel Choir. Fourth CD released. MMINO's Music Achiever of the Year Award was awarded to Peter Guy from Bloemfontein, and the Music Developer of the Year Award was awarded to Brian Thusi from Umlazi, KZN.

2004

Tour to Nelspruit. Performance at Linder Auditorium with Tucson Arizona Boy's Choir, U.S.A. Tour to Cape. Performed in Grootte Kerk on Easter Sunday. Received standing ovation at performance with Pro Cantu and Tygerberg Children’s Choir. A very successfull performance at the Rosebank Union Church with the Welsch Male Voice Choir, RAU choir and the Catamus Corde choir conducted by Prof. Petru Gräbe. A great performance in Sasolburg at the Etienne Rousseau Theatre with choirs from the local schools.

2005

Performance at Linder Auditorium with East Rand Youth Choir, East Rand Children's Choir and Cantare Children's Choir. A very successfull tour to KwaZulu-Natal. Performed as guest choir with Coenie de Villiers at Alberton to celebrate the 75th birthday of the ATKV. Performed with Jannie Moolman at the Randhart Choir Festival. The performance in Vanderbijlpark infront of 1000 in the congregation was an experience. The choir year ended with another highlight when we performed with the Ekurhuleni Youth Choir and a visiting choir from Belguim.
 
2006

Performance at Linder Auditorium with Navy Redd and other local choirs. A very successful tour to the Eastern Cape. Participated in the Canta Tuks Choir Competition. Celebrated our 20 years of existence with previous conductor, Hannelie van der Merwe, who specially travelled from London for the event, as well as with more than 100 past choir and committee members. Released our 5th CD, "Full Marks 20/20" a commemorative collection consisting of 20 works from the repertoires of the years 1999 - 2006.

2007 Competed in the 25th International Choral Competition of Sacred Music in Praveza, Greece on 7 July 2007 and received the highest award of all the youth choirs that competed!
